Qualifications and equipment required

You will be working with The Home Spa as a freelance therapist. This means that you are self employed and you are responsible for keeping all Tax and National Insurance matters in order. The Home Spa will accept no responsibility in the event of such payments not being made correctly.
As a freelance therapist you are expected to maintain the same highly professional standard of work and customer care that would be expected of you in any salon.

Uniform:

You will be expected to wear suitable clothing for the treatments you are providing, such as a tunic or similar clothes as worn in salons. The Home Spa does not supply a uniform, if any specific clothing requirements are necessary you will be notified of this in advance.

Insurance:

You are responsible for ensuring that you are fully insured for providing all of the necessary treatments, you may also need to provide proof by producing a valid insurance certificate upon request.

Equipment & Beauty Products:

You will be required to produce upon applying for work with The Home Spa all equipment needed to properly carry out all treatments. Customers are asked to provide basics such as chairs and tables for such treatments as makeup application. You will need to have your own massage couch. You will also be expected to provide all high quality, branded products used (e.g. oils, creams, beauty products).
- For manicures & pedicures you must use Jessica or Creative.
- For facials you must use Dermalogica, Collin, Clarins or other high quality brands.

Consent Forms:

All of our customers must complete a consent form before any treatment can take place. It is your responsibility to ensure that every guest has signed their consent form before treatments begin.
The Home Spa informs customers at the point of booking that there are some medical conditions which may prevent our therapists providing treatment for an individual, such as broken skin, lesions, or pregnancy.

The Right To Refuse Treatment:

The Home Spa upholds strict professional and ethical standards. It is important to us that our therapists to feel comfortable whilst working on any engagements on behalf of The Home Spa.
We make our customers aware that our therapists maintain the right to terminate treatments if any of the following apply:
- Broken skin or lesions
- Misconduct such as solicitation or suggestive comments
- Any medical conditions not mentioned at the time of reservation
- Pregnancy- if the treatment in question is considered inappropriate for a pregnant woman
- Intoxication by alcohol

Getting Paid:

We endeavor to pay our therapists as soon as possible. You should receive a cheque within 3-7 working days of an event.

Frequency of Work:

That depends on the time of year and overall demand in your area, and how many other therapists we have working for us in that area. As a freelance therapist we cannot guarantee a regular working pattern.

Promoting Yourself:

If you are working on an event on behalf of The Home Spa we ask that you don’t hand out any of your own personal business cards if you are offering services that compete with services that we offer, this includes both our Pamper Party services and our home treatment services. If you offer additional services that we cannot offer then we are happy for you to take the opportunity to promote yourself.

Travel and Parking Expenses:

Travel costs are not covered, (unless you are asked to travel a significant distance from your base). Parking expenses are charged to the party, you will be reimbursed for any expenses when you receive your payment for your services.

Treatments You Will Need To Provide:

We offer treatments for either 20 minutes or 40 minutes. Below is a break down of the treatments that we offer and how to fit them into the different time scales:
